Import an image into the software. The image can be a digital photograph, scanned into the computer, or a stock photo image. The only requirement is that it be RGB and either JPEG, TIF or BMP. The image we are using for this example is a stock photo image.
Below our image is shown as a preview of what the final mural will be, enlarged to check for image artifacts. For this example, we’re using the Tumbled Marble tile Setting with a brown grout width. We can also choose white ceramic tile or glow in the dark tile previews. Note the Mural Settings, which help you to determine the size of the tile to be used (we aren’t limited in the number of tile sizes available), the width spacing, and the final image dimensions. Since not all tiles are the same size, you can put your own custom measurements of the tiles into the height and width sizes of the tile parameters.
MuralCreator gives you many ways of looking at your tiled concept, including one that prints a mockup of the finished project with surrounding tiles to see what it will look like in the field of tile. You can even input your client’s name and project title and it leaves a space for client signature, giving you a paper trail to prove your customer approved the design in the event there is a dispute down the road.
You have complete control over how tiles are printed; what ICC color profile to use both for input and output; re-printing an individual tile that perhaps printed wrong or needed to be redone for whatever reason; ganging tiles together to maximize paper and ink usage; and much more. You can even export a preview tiled image for use on websites and further artwork needs. No other program gives you as much control over your design work as MuralCreator does today.
